How long have I been natural?
This time around I’ve been natural since October 2011. I lost all of my hair in July/August 2011 following chemo and it started growing back in October 2011.
What’s my hair regimen?
I try to wash and condition my hair weekly, sometimes its closer to 2 weeks between washes. I use Glorious Growth Strengthening Mask every other washing session to deep condition my hair. I use LaverMint Conditioner as my moisturizing conditioner on the other week. I clarify with Aloe Apple Cider Rinse as needed, sometimes once a month. I rinse my hair with warm water not cold because my cuticles are tightly closed so i need to keep them open so the products are absorbed. After washing i spray with Quench Hydrating Spray, apply Glorious Growth Hair and Scalp Oil and Quench Daily Cream to my hair. I usually do two strand twists while my hair air dries. Two strand twists or some sort of updo are my go to styles. I cover my hair with a satin bonnet every night. I usually refresh with Quench Hydrating Spray every other night. I used to have to refresh every night but that’s no longer needed.
Can I use your hair oil on my children?
Our Glorious Growth Hair and Scalp is not recommended for children under 10 years old. It contains Rosemary essential oil and is not recommended for use with young children. You can use our Quench Hydrating Spray, Quench Daily Cream and children’s products on younger children.
Will your products help my hair grow?
That answer isn’t always as simple as you want it to be. Our products contain several ingredients that are known to help promote healthy hair but results are not guaranteed. There are many factors that affect hair grow including your hair care regimen, genetics, stress level, eating habits, styling techniques etc. The only way to know for sure if our products are right for you is to give them a try.
How should I apply Glorious Growth Hair and Scalp Oil?
Use the applicator tip to apply directly to your scalp. You can put a dime sized amount in your hand and distribute throughout your hair as well. You can also use the oil as a hot oil treatment by placing the bottle in a cup of warm water and letting it sit for at least a minute. Apply the oil throughout your hair and cover with a plastic cap. Leave cap on for at least 15 minutes, proceed with washing your hair as usual.
How often should I use Glorious Growth Hair and Scalp Oil?
We recommend massaging your scalp with GG Hair and Scalp Oil at least 3 times a week. Some ladies use it everyday, it depends on how your hair absorbs the product.
What are the LOC/LCO methods?
This methods refer to the order to apply Liquid, Oil and Cream to your hair for maximum moisturize and sealing. The L would be a water based spray or just water, we recommend Quench Hydrating Spray for the liquid. O is for a oil, some prefer to apply as the second or third step. C is for a cream moisturizer, we recommend Quench Daily Cream. This three products are layered together to hydrate your hair and trap that moisture in.
What’s hair porosity and how do i figure out mine?
Hair porosity basically refers to how porous your hair is. Low porosity hair has cuticles that are tightly closed and flat. It’s harder to get moisture in but once its in it takes a while for it to escape. My hair is low porosity, it takes forever for my hair to feel wet when I’m washing it. High porosity hair is usually damaged hair but can also be genetic. The cuticles easily let moisture and easily lose moisture as well.
How do I determine hair porosity?
Get a cup of water and place a mostly clean strand of hair in the water. If your hair floats at the surface for minutes your hair is low porosity and is having a hard time absorbing the water. If your hair sinks quickly or within a few minutes your hair is highly porous and is quickly absorbing the water. If your hair stays around the middle but doesn’t completely sink your hair is considered normal porosity and is holding onto a proper amount of moisture.
Tips for low porosity hair: Condition with heat or steam to open up your cuticles and allow better product penetration. You can also wear a plastic cap after applying conditioner and allow your body heat to help. Clarify your hair to remove product buildup, we recommend our Aloe Apple Cider Rinse. Don’t rinse with cold water use warm water instead, cold water closes the cuticle and you want your cuticles open so your products are absorbed.
Tips for high porosity hair: Deep condition to improve protein or moisture levels. Our Glorious Growth Strengthening Mask is an awesome protein deep conditioner that can help improve protein levels and provide the strength your hair needs to prevent further breakage. A great moisturizing conditioner is recommended to replace the moisture your hair needs. Clarifying with Aloe Apple Cider Rinse will help balance the pH level of your hair and close the cuticles. Heavy creams are great to use after hydrating to seal in moisture. We recommend trying the LOC or LCO method.
